A Classroom Quilt
I have pics (coming soon).

Team Building
A Classroom Quilt

Purpose
Students will share a special event from this year by making a piece to the classroom quilt.

Materials
white squares
colored squares
yarn
hole puncher
kids– crayons

Procedures

Brainstorm a list on the board of the events that have happened at Tark. (Snowflurry, chitty chitty, something we learned about, a special time this year, something specific you will always remember, something special to this class, etc.)

Students will draw an event on their white square. This square is backed with a colored piece and is hole punched like a jig saw puzzle. The students will put the puzzle together with yarn after everyone draws. Label the tops of the squares on the back. It will be a 5x5 or 9x3 (with teachers).

Students will work as a whole group to put the puzzle together. Holes have to match up in order to string them together. Put pieces of string on the table for kids to tie together.

When the puzzle is complete, each student shares the significance of the square.

Allow about 10-15 for drawing, in order to have enough time to sew together.

Hang it up!
